There is something incredibly special about an intimate wedding. Smaller guest numbers create a warm, personal atmosphere where every detail feels meaningful, every guest feels included and every moment is celebrated together. Recently, we had the pleasure of providing the bar service for a beautiful intimate wedding celebration in Warwick, it perfectly captured everything we love about weddings in Warwickshire.
With Warwick offering some stunning historic venues, intimate weddings continue to grow in popularity across the county. Venues in the heart of Warwick are especially well suited to micro weddings and stylish reception celebrations.
This couple first contacted us in December whilst exploring options for their wedding drinks and bar service, it always feels exciting to work on shorter lead times as plans change and evolve as you get to know the couple. Whether your wedding is planned months in advance or comes together a little more last minute, having the right suppliers in place can make all the difference to the overall experience.
A Wedding Bar Designed Around the Couple
One detail was a must have for the groom, Peroni or similar style lager on draught. Although we love to work with craft and local breweries, we were more than happy to oblige! The bride’s mum wrapped the bar in her own banner. There was a thoughtful and sentimental welcome drink on arrival as a nod to the bride’s grandfather, although he loved a Champagne cocktail, they hoped to appeal to the majority of the guests, with a Cremant reception drink. As guests arrived and they were handed their flute with a personalised wooden drinks token. Personal touches like this are what make weddings truly memorable and we love helping couples bring these meaningful ideas to life. Guests also signed the back of their drinks tokens, creating a lovely memory piece from the day that the couple can keep forever. Tokens were from Bespoke Laser by Jack.
The daytime celebration was kept beautifully intimate, with around 12 guests seated for a private meal being looked after by Guys Cliffe Catering. Smaller wedding breakfasts and private dining celebrations are especially popular in Warwick, with local venues well suited to gatherings of this size. Historic spaces in the town centre often cater perfectly for intimate wedding breakfasts and reception drinks. This part of the day allowed the couple to enjoy quality time with their closest family and friends before opening the celebration up to evening guests.
Evening Wedding Reception with Cocktails & DJ
As the evening began, the guest numbers grew to around 60 guests in total, transforming the celebration into a lively and energetic wedding party.
The atmosphere completely shifted into evening celebration mode with:
- cocktails flowing from the bar
- draught beer being poured all night
- Baby Guinness shooters proving hugely popular
- DJ keeping the dancefloor alive
Every cocktail on the menu was a hit even with some discerning food and drink lovers who work in the industry, which is exactly what we love to hear.
Wedding cocktails bring such a different energy to an evening reception compared with a standard drinks service. They create conversation, excitement and a real sense of occasion. For couples planning weddings in Warwick or Warwickshire, a bespoke cocktail menu is one of the best ways to elevate the evening experience.
Some of the best feedback we received was from the groom on the night, who said that our bar service had really made a difference to the whole wedding and the overall vibe but the bride also took the time to message us on Instagram the day after their wedding to thank you. A lovely thank you email also followed saying “espresso martini- bloody gorgeous by the way.” “I did have one spicy marg too, so so great!” “I genuinely want to host another party just so we can have you back! I’ll keep up to date with you on socials, and an eye out for any events. Bloody brilliant team you guys are. THANK YOU!”

That is exactly what we aim for, couples feeling like we really made a positive impact on their day. A well-run wedding bar is never just about serving drinks, it helps shape the atmosphere, keeps guests engaged, creates memorable moments, and adds to the flow of the day from arrival drinks through to the evening party. The bride and groom requested to keep their memories for themselves and their guests so there aren’t any photos with them.
